The association
"Les Amis Français du Lipizzan" (The Lipizzan's French friends)was created in 1965 by M. Bellon. Since that time, his daughter has continued his work. The association gathers breeders, owners, riders and Lipizzans' lovers. It aims to promote the development of the lipizzan breed, taking care of its purity and of the quality of the horses. |

Created more than four
centuries ago by the imperial court of Austria, the Lipizzan had to be the most beautiful and the most robust. War horse apreciated for its bravery and its high spirit at fight, as peace is back, he practices with talent, raised movements and riding jumps. |

The traditional great
stud farms of Lipizzans are nowadays scattered in numerous countries, consequently to splitting of the austro-hungarian empire and more recently of the yougoslavia and tchecoslovacia. Numerous other countries have developped as well Lipizzans stud farms, France counts sevral stud farms of variaus sizes and some 500 Lipizzan horses. |

L'Association Française
du Lipizzan was certified for intervening in the selection and the genetic improvement of the horses, it gathers and represents the breeders. Its certification was
delivered by the agriculture minister. |
